How PayEasy handles personal information for identity verification, bank debit mandates, instalment collections, payroll fallback recovery, order fulfilment, and fraud prevention.

1. Who we are

This Privacy Notice explains how BM Technologies, trading as PayEasy ("PayEasy", "we", "us", or "our"), collects and uses personal information when you use our website, mobile services, employer portals, and checkout flows.

PayEasy is the data controller for personal information processed in connection with employee purchases, instalment authorizations, bank debit collections, payroll fallback recovery, and related account services.

2. Scope

This notice applies to employees and account holders using PayEasy's consumer services. Employers, merchants, collection partners, and operations users may be subject to additional notices or contractual terms.

By using PayEasy or accepting an Instalment Authorization, you acknowledge this Privacy Notice.

3. Information we collect

  • Identity and profile information β€” name, email, phone number, Ghana Card number, date of birth, and delivery address.
  • Employment information β€” employer name, staff details, employment verification data, and payroll recovery eligibility where applicable.
  • Bank and repayment information β€” nominated bank account details, mandate status, instalment schedule, collection outcomes, and repayment history.
  • Order information β€” products selected, plan terms, authorization letters, and fulfilment status.
  • Technical and security information β€” IP address, device and browser details, timestamps, and authentication records.
  • Communications β€” support messages, SMS or email delivery records, and fraud or compliance notes.

4. How we use your information

We process personal information solely for legitimate business purposes connected to your use of PayEasy, including:

  • Identity verification and account management.
  • Employment verification and order approval workflows.
  • Affordability assessment based on instalment capacity.
  • Setting up and operating bank debit mandates with collection partners.
  • Processing instalment collections and, where required, payroll fallback recovery.
  • Sharing authorization details with your employer's workplace or payroll contact.
  • Coordinating fulfilment with merchants and delivery partners.
  • Fraud prevention, dispute handling, and regulatory compliance.
  • Customer support and service notifications.

5. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only where necessary to operate the service:

  • Your employer β€” to verify employment, review instalment authorizations, approve orders, and process payroll deductions when PayEasy escalates failed bank debit collections.
  • Collection partners and banks β€” to set up mandates, collect instalments, and confirm debit outcomes.
  • Merchants and fulfilment partners β€” to deliver the goods or services in your order.
  • Payment, SMS, email, hosting, and other service providers that help us run PayEasy.
  • Regulators, courts, or law enforcement when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and platform integrity.

7. Retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the service, manage repayments, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and maintain audit records.

Authorization letters, order records, mandate records, and consent metadata may be retained for the life of the transaction and for a reasonable period thereafter as required by law or business need.

8. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. Please keep your account credentials confidential and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal information, or object to particular processing activities.

To exercise these rights, contact support@payeasy.com.gh. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

Some requests may be limited where we must retain information for legal, repayment, or audit reasons.

10. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure performance, and protect the platform.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect account and checkout functionality.

11. Children

PayEasy is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Changes to this notice

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. Material changes will be published on this page with an updated effective date.

Where required, we will provide additional notice before changes take effect.
